A hit-and-run in Gaithersburg on January 27, 2025, led to a stolen vehicle, a home invasion in Germantown, and an armed police pursuit across state lines, ending in Virginia with the arrest of 32-year-old Esmeraldo Martinez De La Cruz, who was reported missing from New York along with his 4-year-old daughter. Reagan National Airport has shared that “All takeoffs and landings have been halted at DCA. Emergency personnel are responding to an aircraft incident on the airfield. The terminal remains open. Xiao Qi Ji, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian left the National Zoo more than a year ago, and ursine admirers were left wondering when or if pandas would ever return. Well, on Friday, Bao Li (male) and Qing Bao (female), a pair of three-year old pandas, make their public debut (more photos below).
