Each year, popular reservation website/app OpenTable looks at insights from diner reviews to determine the top restaurants across the country. While some lists are decided by critics, OpenTable’s Top 100—this one is driven by diners and based on insights and reviews from verified OpenTable users. Five restaurants in the DC Metro area made the national list:
The Bowie Baysox are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles and play in the Double-A Northeast. The team plays their home games at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie. The Baysox have announced that the will be official renamed the Chesapeake Baysox during a special event at The Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis. “The updated team name represents a new chapter in Baysox baseball, expanding the brand to better reflect the broad and diverse community of fans who support the team across the region. The Baysox will continue to play at their home, Prince George’s Stadium, in Bowie, Maryland.”

Prince William County police arrested Elias Samuel Vargas Canaviri, 22, of Silver Spring, MD, on charges of indecent liberties, carnal knowledge, and using a communication system to facilitate offenses involving a minor, following an investigation into a sexual assault reported by the victim to a school counselor. Sailing Through The Winter Solstice begins annually in November, when a number of boats, transformed through the “creative minds of many Frederick friends”, set sail on the Creek. Thanks to a tip from a citizen, the suspect wanted for the murder of 27-year-old Jessica Somerville is now in custody in North Carolina. With the assistance of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (NC) and the U.S. Marshals Service, 23-year-old Raheem Hawkins-Boseman of Silver Spring, was arrested late Wednesday night at a home in Leland, North Carolina.
While this is not near the DC Metro Area, the first Winter Storm Warning that includes a small portion of the state of Maryland has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS).
