The Sears located at 11255 New Hampshire Ave in White Oak closed its doors in  early 2021. It has been sitting vacant for three years, but now there’s light at the end of the tunnel as the property was approved at a recent Board of Public Works meeting for a $2 million grant from the National Capital Strategic Economic Development Fund, according to a Maryland Newsletters report.

On Monday evening, a vehicle was backed up through the storefront of Flex All Day at 10231 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda’s Wildwood Shopping Center. The store, which offers activewear for women, has posted an update– sharing that they’re working hard to reopen as soon as possible.

Montgomery County has 39 companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America—the most of any jurisdiction in the state of Maryland. According to ThinkMoCo, Montgomery County’s Economic Development Corporation, “companies on this prestigious annual list are ranked according to overall percentage revenue growth from 2020 through 2023.”

Earlier this summer we let you know that Matan submitted Schematic Development Plan (SDP) application SDP-9759-2024 proposing to construct two buildings with up to 14,750 square feet of retail use at 715 and 725 Progress Way in the development that’s home to the relatively new Sheetz and Chick-fil-A off of 355 in Gaithersburg.
