Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Anthony Gomes, 26, of Silver Spring, Maryland, for unauthorized use of a stolen vehicle. He was arrested after the OnStar application tracked and disabled the vehicle.

Springbrook High School principal Stephanie Valentine sent a letter to the school community providing an update on a serious incident involving an email threatening to “bomb the school” that caused the school to move into a “Shelter-In-Place” for a period of time today. According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, the Honorable John Maloney sentenced defendant, Leaundra Matthews, to 30 years in prison suspend all but 25 years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release. (more…)
