Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -3rd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, June 4, 2023, in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

The investigation has revealed that at approximately 5 a.m., the victims were walking along Mayor Lane when they were approached by three unknown suspects. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and struck one of the victims in the head. The suspects then demanded property from the victims. The victims complied with the suspects’ demands. All three suspects then ran towards the 900 block of Thayer Avenue with the victims’ property.


At approximately 8:17 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a carjacking. The investigation by detectives has revealed that when the adult male victim left his home to take out his trash, the juvenile suspect approached him from behind, violently threatened to harm him with a knife and demanded the key to the victim’s Honda Accord. The victim handed over the car key to the suspect who then drove away in the Honda.

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a death that occurred on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in the 800 block of University Boulevard E. in Silver Spring.

At approximately 12:40 a.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue Personnel responded to the location for the report of a possible assault.  Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from trauma to his body. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old, Elmer Camacho-Aguilar.


Montgomery County Police responded to a fatal shooting that took place in the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road around 8pm on Friday night.  According to MCPD, “when 5th District officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the parking lot of the apartment complex and located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds behind one of the apartment buildings.

Officers provided aide until Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded. The 57-year-old male was pronounced dead on scene.  Witnesses stated that they saw several people drive away from the location and there are no suspects in custody at this time. It is too early in the investigation to provide suspect or vehicle descriptions.”


According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the Honorable John Maloney, a jury convicted defendant, Kyle Noble, 30, of unknown address, on charges of second-degree murder and armed robbery for the death and robbery of 31-year-old Efrain Arias. Noble faces up to 60 years in prison and a 25-year mandatory minimum as this is his third conviction for a crime of violence in the state of Maryland. Noble committed this murder while on probation for a stabbing in Frederick County in April of 2017. He also pleaded guilty to robbery in Montgomery County in March of 2014. He is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on July 17th 2023.

This stems from an incident on September 15th 2019, when the defendant, Noble, confronted Efrain Arias as Arias exited a vehicle in the parking lot of the Extended Stay America hotel on Milestone Center Drive in Germantown. Noble chased the victim down a hill into a field near the parking lot, fatally stabbed him, then came back and robbed the dying victim of personal property. As stated by the prosecutors in court, the attack was fueled by drug-seeking behavior and a jealous rage, as the victim was a friend of the defendant’s ex-girlfriend.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an armed robbery of a Dollar City and More that occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

The initial investigation has revealed that at approximately 9:25 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the store in the 12300 block of Georgia Avenue and attempted to purchase several items with counterfeit money. When the employee told the suspect that she would not accept the counterfeit money, the suspect became angry and walked to the back of the store. The suspect then removed a package of steak knives from the shelf and returned to the front of the store. Pointing the knives at the employee, the suspect demanded money and the victim’s personal property. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Investigations Division are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Motel 6 in the 400 block of Quince Orchard Rd. in Gaithersburg on Friday, May 26, 2023. Detectives have released photos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 12 a.m., the suspect was seen entering the room that was occupied by two female victims and then exiting the room approximately 15 minutes later. Upon exiting the room, the suspect grabbed one of the victim’s pink purse, which contained U.S. currency and displayed a knife towards the victims.  Both victims attempted to stop the suspect and a struggle ensued, which continued outside the hotel room. The suspect was then able to make good on his escape.


Per Gaithersburg Police: On June 06, 2023 at 10:30 p.m., an officer assigned to the Gaithersburg Police Department – Community Action Team was conducting focused enforcement in the area of the 200 block of Professional Drive. At that time, the officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation, and initiated a traffic stop.

During the course of the traffic stop, a narcotics detecting K9 responded to conduct a drug scan of the vehicle. After receiving a positive indication from the K9 for the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a search of the vehicle was conducted resulting in the discovery of a loaded handgun under the driver seat and 18 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana in a mini backpack from the rear passenger seat. The driver, 44-years-old, male from Montgomery Village, MD was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing and formal charging. The passenger, 37-years-old, female from Rockville, MD was also arrested on outstanding warrants from another county.


Per Takoma Park Police: On June 5, at approximately 11:09 pm, Takoma Park Police were flagged down by a resident who advised that they saw a male subject walking around with blood on him near the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Subsequently, the male subject approached an officer and indicated he had been robbed and assaulted. The victim stated he was approached by an unknown Hispanic female who was soliciting him to purchase drugs and/or sex. When the victim indicated he was not interested, the female suspect struck him in the head with a rock. At the same time, another suspect hit the victim in the back of his head with a rock. The victim fell to the ground where he was further assaulted by the female suspect and a Hispanic male suspect. The suspects stole property from the victim and fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Officers canvassed the area for the suspects and made contact with two individuals whose involvement in the robbery continues to be investigated. Consequently, they both had outstanding warrants for failure to appear and were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Investigation continues under case #230027080. The investigation by detectives has revealed that on Saturday, July 23, 2022, the suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at the employees and demanded money. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the registers and left the scene.
