Kim’s Hunan Express, one of three remaining businesses in the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center, appears to have closed.
Earlier in the week readers reported that the tables were gone from the restaurant, and now signs have been posted saying the restaurant has closed. We’ve placed calls to the restaurant, but have not gotten through.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the newest addition to Burtonsville Town Square. It’s located next to Dunkin Donuts and is now open.
The cafe offers more than just smoothies as the menu contains flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, bowls, breakfast, and a lot more.
After a long wait, MoCo’s first Hip Hop Fish & Chicken is now open!
The restaurant is located in Briggs Chaney shopping center in the spot that used to be home to Marina’s Pollo A La Brasa (13820 Old Columbia Pike).
Shan’s Halal Food will be taking over the location next to Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Burtonsville Town Square.

El Aguila is coming to the Colesville Center.
Back in May Ninja Sushi was planning on moving in to the Colesville Center, but a sign on the old patches location now reflects El Aguila’s alcohol hearing.

We sat with Chapala owner and general manager, John Angel, who spoke with us about what he feels makes Chapala a must-try in the area.
He told us it starts with the food. All of Chapala’s food is made fresh daily with carefully selected ingredients and prepared without any preservatives. Though the family owned restaurant has been around since 1996, the recipes they use have been passed down from generation to generation. We enjoyed the food, but also loved having a mariachi duo play a few songs for us tableside (a clip of that is available on our instagram.

Usually these renderings are filled with generic restaurants, grocery/retail stores, etc., but these contained logos and fonts that looked very familiar.
In October we speculated based on the renderings that a Shake Shack, Morton’s, and Trader Joe’s could be headed to White Oak.
