Construction progresses at Neelsville Middle School, located at 11700 Neelsville Church Rd in Germantown. The project, which includes a brand new school building, is expected to be completed by August with students beginning in the new school building next school year (photo above and below).
The Montgomery County Council recently recognized Montgomery Blair High School social studies teacher Kenneth Smith for helping to develop and teach the Hip Hop History and Culture course.
The Winston Churchill High School bocce team along with coach Stephen Sutherland have won the 2024 bocce county championship.
Wootton High School’s Acappella group, The Acatonics, have done it again. Just a week after winning first place overall, along with best soloist and vocal percussionist, at SingStrong New York, The Acatonics won first place in the prestigious International Competition of High School Acappella (ICHSA) Quarter Final Competition on Saturday Feb. 10th.
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has cancelled all activities and events scheduled to take place at Montgomery County Public Schools for Saturday, February 17. Montgomery County is currently predicted to get as much as 5-8 inches of snow during the overnight hours.
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Safe Routes to School program will hold an in-person meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 6:30pm to discuss safety improvements in the Forest Knolls Elementary School neighborhood of Northwood Park. (more…)
