Richard Montgomery High School Girls Volleyball has won the Maryland State Championship, defeating Leonardtown 4-1. The team finished the season with a 22-3 overall record.

A new MCPS initiative, Community of Practice (CoP) Workgroup on Promotions and Appointments, District Climate, and Employee Supports, dedicated to rectifying issues related to harassment, sexual harassment, and workplace bullying, will be meeting between starting mid-November 2023 (this month) and Mid-February 2024.

Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) superintendent, Dr. Michael Martirano, announced that he will be retiring from his position, effective January 10th, 2024. Earlier this year, global beauty brand L’Oréal Paris USA announced its 2023 L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth, recognizing the charitable achievements of ten extraordinary non-profit leaders working to address the nation’s biggest issues. Included in the ten is MoCo high school student Shrusti Amula.

Marco Fuggitti, athletic specialist at Northwood High School, and the school’s athletic department staff, have been recognized by the National Federation of State High School Associations for achieving Level 3 status in the NFHS School Honor Roll Program.
