Nicole Murray-Lewis, a longtime Montgomery County Public Schools educator, has been elected to serve as the teacher member on the Maryland State Board of Education. Murray-Lewis, who currently teaches social studies at James H. Blake High School, received 39.9 percent of the 3,624 votes cast in the statewide election held November 3-17.

Students in Montgomery County Public Schools’ Automotive Trades Foundation (ATF) and Information Technology Foundation programs are preparing for their first public sale of the school year, showcasing used cars and refurbished computers they have reconditioned as part of their hands-on training. The sale will take place on Saturday, December 6, from 9am to 11am at Gaithersburg High School.

Montgomery County Public Schools is gathering community feedback on three proposed calendar drafts for the 2026–2027 school year, marking the second phase of the district’s calendar development process. MCPS is asking students, staff, families, and community members to review the options and share input before the final calendar is presented to the Board of Education.

MCPS report cards are now available in ParentVUE, and Montgomery County’s only Krispy Kreme, located at 14919 Shady Grove Road in Rockville’s Fallsgrove Village Center is celebrating student success by offering one free Original Glazed doughnut for each “A,” up to six doughnuts per student. The store has confirmed it is participating in Krispy Kreme’s nationwide report card promotion.
