Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has identified the following sixteen (16) geographical sites located throughout the county for emergency meal service on January 7, 2025. Grab and Go meal distribution will be available from 12pm-2pm for ages 18 and under. Families may pick up meals and bring them home to enjoy. Heating instructions will be included.

Per MCPS: MCPS Schools Close on Time; After-School and Evening Activities Canceled

Montgomery County Public Schools will close at the regularly scheduled time today, Friday, January 3. All after-school and evening school and community activities in school buildings are canceled. Daycare programs in school buildings will remain open as scheduled. Families should check with their childcare provider.


The Energía Tour, launched in 2018 with two schools, has now expanded to 15 schools, from elementary to high school. Founded by Christopher Pinilla, or Mr. Chris Hypnotyc, the tour celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month and promotes mental health awareness in Montgomery County. This year, the tour finished at Wheaton High School.
