Wawa has announced its “Cheers to Classrooms” initiative that toasts teachers and school staff with free any size hot coffee is back from Monday, September 2 through Sunday, September 15 in the Mid-Atlantic region.
MCPS has announced that September 4, 2024 is opening day for the inaugural girls’ flag football season. All 25 MCPS high schools will field teams and participate in opening day festivities that will be conducted at four locations across Montgomery County. Ceremonies will be conducted with support from the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders. The schedule and locations are below:

The 2023-2024 MCAP results reflect consistent performance by MCPS students, with improvements in eight out of 14 assessments compared to the previous year.
The District 14 Delegation, comprising Delegate Bernice Mireku-North, Delegate Pam Queen, Delegate Anne Kaiser, and Senator Craig Zucker, hosted a school supply and backpack giveaway at Fairland Elementary School on August 22, 2024 and Greencastle Elementary School on August 23, 2024. More than 200 backpacks, pencils, and erasers were given out at each school.
