Artina 2021: Balancing Acts is the latest sculpture exhibit hosted jointly by the Washington Sculptors Group and Sandy Spring Museum.
Artina will be on display on the grounds of the Sandy Spring Museum from August 4 through November 6.

Sculpture in Honor of Dominique Dawes Being Commissioned
Montgomery County Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a virtual press conference this morning to announce a sculpture being commissioned in honor of three-time Olympian Dominique Dawes. Dawes is from Silver Spring and won gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Mike Tyson’s 18,244-square-foot former residence on Persimmon Tree Road at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda has sold for $4.57M, according to CBS Baltimore. Tyson purchased the home in 1995 with ex-wife Monica Turner for $2 million. Turner kept the property after their 2003 divorce.
The home sits on 2.4 acres and has seven bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, and a basketball court. The home was originally listed for $8.5M in May, 2020.
Remembering Jim Vance, Who Passed Away Four Years Ago Today
Local news anchor Jim Vance passed away four years ago today on July 22nd, 2017 at the age of 75. Vance worked at WRC-TV (NBC 4) for over 45 years, with the majority of them spent anchoring the 11pm newscast alongside Doreen Gentzler, Bob Ryan, and the late George Michael.

The Sandy Spring Slave Museum will be holding it’s annual Juneteenth Festival this Saturday from 12-6pm at 18524 Brooke Rd in Sandy Spring, MD.
The Jolly Show Carnival is back at the Westfield Wheaton Mall parking lot at 11160 Veirs Mill Rd. in Wheaton.
The Carnival will run from September 22 through October 3, Monday though Friday 5p-10p, Saturday 1-11pm, and Sunday 3-11pm.
