In a collaborative effort with Monumental Sports and Entertainment, Brooke Grove Elementary School is currently embarking on an exciting project to celebrate the Washington Capitals hockey team’s 50th anniversary. The initiative invited fourth graders to participate in a student-led music video experience, where they would help write a song honoring the team’s historic milestone.

Mack Hollins, a native of Montgomery County, MD, is continuing his stellar NFL career as he signs a two-year contract worth $8.4 million with the New England Patriots. We have recently received inquiries about the canceled appearance by Henry Winkler at Montgomery College’s Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, located at 51 Mannakee St., Rockville. We would like to remind everyone that this event was canceled last month. Originally scheduled for October 29, 2024, the event was later rescheduled to March 11, 2025, before being canceled indefinitely.

Maryland Public Television (MPT) today announced that Montgomery County resident Steven J. Schupak, MPT’s current executive vice president and station manager, will become the sixth president and chief executive officer of the 55-year-old statewide TV network on July 1, succeeding retiring CEO Larry D. Unger.

The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with The Peterson Companies and rio, will host the 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at rio, located at the intersection of Rio Boulevard and Grand Corner Avenue and starting at 10am. Free parking will be available in three garages along Washingtonian Boulevard.
