Hometown Holidays/Taste of Rockville will take place in a new location this year. For the first time, this free festival which features local flavor including two stages of entertainment by local acts, and activities for kids, will take place at Redgate Park (14500 Avery Road), moving away from Rockville Town Square where it has been held for many years.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 between 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The 10th annual VisArts’ Rockville Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, May 7th and Sunday, May 8th at Rockville Town Square, between 10am and 5pm.
The Festival is a celebration of creativity and community that brings 10,000 people together for art, food, and fun.

Bridgerton, which was created by Watkins Mill alumnus Chris Van Dusen, debuted on Netflix on December 25, 2020. With a viewership of 82 million households, it became the most-watched series on Netflix at the time of its premiere, and remains the second most-watched series by total watch time on the platform. The series reached number one in 76 countries on Netflix.
Montgomery County’s GreenFest will take place on Saturday, April 23 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Brookside Gardens ( 1800 Glenallan Ave) in Wheaton. The event is free and is a chance for residents, businesses, and nonprofits to share ideas, learn together, and have fun, according to Montgomery Parks.
Food truck options this year include Bun’d Up, Chix & Stix, Kona Ice, and Muscle BBQ.
RespectFest is returning the week of March 21-27 (virtual from 3/21-3/26 and in person on 3/27).
The mission of RespectFest is to promote respect in dating relationships and to raise community awareness about the prevalence of teen dating violence. Montgomery County middle and high school students have been submitting videos as part of a contest. Top prize is $1,000 and the winners will be announced at the festival. There are nearly 400 entries from students.
The Gaithersburg Book Festival will be returning as a live, in-person event this year. In addition to its return to an in-person format, the festival will also be moving to a larger location this year, as it will be held at Bohrer Park.
The festival is free to attend and will also include free parking.
The City of Gaithersburg has announced that the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Rio has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 19 due to expected inclement weather.

Two free ball hockey skills clinics will be taking place this Saturday, March 12th and Saturday, March 26th for children ages 4-13.
The clinic for children ages 4-7 will take place at 2pm and at 4pm for children 8-13.
The Montgomery County Humane Society has canceled its annual dog walk ‘Paws in the Park.’ The decision was made due to “continuing uncertainties surrounding the current health crisis, and in response to feedback from our community.”
The annual walk will continue in 2023.
Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, announces its March line-up of special events.
