Jeyco is approximately 5-feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested a suspect wanted for a homicide that occurred on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the 19000 block of Mills Choice Rd. At approximately 12:09 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the location for a check the welfare call. Upon arrival, officers located 41-year-old Louis James Chesley, of Montgomery Village, deceased with apparent trauma to the body. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
The suspect, 35-year-old William Oligiwan Cutler was arrested the afternoon of Friday, February 17, in Gaithersburg. Cutler has no known address. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a fire reported in the bedroom of a two story, middle-of-the-row townhouse on Club Lake Rd in Montgomery Village at approximately 9:30pm on Thursday night (video below). The cause of the fire has been determined to be unattended incense burning which ignited curtains.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a fire reported in the bedroom of a two story, middle-of-the-row townhouse on Club Lake Rd in Montgomery Village at approximately 9:30pm on Thursday night (video below).
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, all occupants were able to get out as heavy smoke was showing upon the arrival of multiple crews. The fire extended to the roof and attic before the bulk of it was knocked out by approximately 9:55pm. There was little to no extension to neighboring/adjacent townhomes and no injuries were reported. Approximately $325K in damage and three adults have been displaced. A cat is also missing.
According to a report by WTOP, Pepco stated “it completed repairs on the tower and overhead lines on Feb. 3, 68 days after the shocking plane crash and rescue of the two inside. Pepco added that the Gaithersburg transmission tower is back to working normally.” Repairs on the transmission tower and power lines that were damaged after a private plane crashed into them on November 27 began on Monday, January 16. The crash occurred near the intersection of Goshen Road and Rothbury Drive in Montgomery Village and resulted in an outage to approximately 85,000 customers across the county. The pilot and passenger of the plane suffered non-life threatening injuries. On December 6, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released its preliminary report on the incident.
Montgomery Parks’ recognized Park Manager Tom Baker at a Montgomery County Planning Board meeting for his heroic efforts in helping the people involved in the plane crash. Baker, who has worked for Montgomery Parks for over 18 years and manages 29 parks in the Rock Creek region of the county, was presented with a certificate of appreciation. He was dispatched to the scene the evening of the crash and was put in charge of communications with the pilot, to keep him calm and informed of the recovery efforts. “This went on for approximately seven hours until they were rescued,” said Baker, “I was relaying information about their status to the medical command officer so he could keep the paramedics informed. In all my 27 active years as a volunteer, I have never responded to such a call. This is in fact a once in a lifetime incident.” The pilot and passenger were both rescued and are recovering.
Permanent signage is up at Kobe Japan Hibachi & Sushi, which will be located at 19226 Montgomery Village Ave, next to Moe’s Southwest Grill in the Montgomery Village Center. Kobe Japan has additional locations at 1163 University Blvd E in Takoma Park and 13623 Georgia Ave. Suit A in Aspen Hill. According to their website, the menu features sushi, sashimi, spring rolls, bento boxes and hibachi. Construction is currently ongoing on the interior of the restaurant and no opening date has been announced.

Menu items include spring rolls, Pho (noodle soup), sandwiches, vermicelli bowls, salads, and stir fry. BooBoo Pho is open Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 11am-7pm.
Lidl is coming to Bethesda. The grocery store will open at the 41,300 SF location that was formerly home to Safeway on Old Georgetown Road for over 25 years, according to a report by Robert Dyer. Safeway closed at 7625 Old Georgetown Road in in March 2018 after opening in 1991. An opening date for the upcoming Lidl is not yet available.
Lidl opened its first grocery store in Takoma Park in December 2020. That was followed by a store in Glenmont in 2021, and the grocery store then opened a location in Montgomery Village about a year ago. Locations in Germantown and Rockville are also planned.
Southbound I-270 is currently closed before exit 10 as the result of a traffic collision that occurred Monday night around 9:30pm. According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, the incident happened on Southbound I-270 near I-370/Sam Eig Highway (Exit 9) and involved a box truck and Ride On bus. Hazmat has been called to the scene due to fluid spill and there is a large amount of debris on the highway. Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Pete Piringer reports one adult has been transported by EMS with Priority 2 trauma. We will post an update when additional information is available. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.

Last week we reported that the Montgomery Village Center has been sold for $40.25 million according to a report by Maryland Newsletters. Per the report, “Atlantic remained in the deal as the 131,000 square foot center traded from a partnership that included Walton Street Capital and Atlantic, to a new one, headed by Petroleum Marketing Group and, again, Atlantic. The new owners paid $40,250,000.” The shopping center was built in 1969 and is currently undergoing a $20 million renovation. It’s anchored by Aldi and Big Lots, and is home to Ledo Pizza, a recently opened Starbucks, Dollar tree, Advanced Auto parts, and more. Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the area of Montgomery Village Avenue and Centerway Road.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., officers from the 6th District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
