Man Receives 30 Year Sentence for Rape and Sexual Abuse of a Minor Who Was Trafficked From Guatemala
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Sharon Burrell has sentenced defendant, Francisco Barahona, 46, of Gaithersburg to 45 years in prison suspend all but 30 years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release.” (more…)

The Lyft driver who allegedly terminated a ride and stopped in the middle of the southbound lane on Coastal Highway following a disagreement, demanding all passengers exit the vehicle and leading to the death of Montgomery County man Sydney Wolf, has been formally indicted. The Lyft driver was identified in court documents as Laquise Leon.
