An unusual new destination for coffee lovers has arrived in Montgomery County, as Cafecito is now open inside the new Whip Clean Car Wash at the Festival at Muddy Branch shopping center in Gaithersburg.
Several Gaithersburg neighborhoods will join communities across the country on Tuesday, August 4, for National Night Out, an annual campaign focused on strengthening relationships between residents, law enforcement, and community organizations while promoting crime prevention and neighborhood engagement.
The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair will host a Sensory-Friendly Midway Morning on Monday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a quieter and more inclusive fair experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities, autism and anyone who benefits from a lower-stimulation environment. Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen is hiring as it prepares to open its first Washington metropolitan area location at 212 Boardwalk Place in Rio. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the restaurant is targeting an August debut. Exterior and interior construction both appear to be nearing completion.
Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection is inviting residents to repair, rather than replace, broken household items during a free Fix-It Clinic on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Gaithersburg Library. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 18330 Montgomery Village Ave. and will pair participants with volunteer fixers who provide hands-on guidance for repairing everyday items. (more…)
