According to recent renderings and plans submitted to the City of Gaithersburg, a new Chick-Fil-A restaurant is planned for 700 N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, MD at Progress Labs. Progress Labs is a 44-acre property that directly fronts I-270 at the Montgomery Village Avenue exit. and is located next door to the recently constructed 300,000 square foot FedEx Ground facility, just south of the new Watkins Mill Interchange.

Chef Lee’s Element at 520 Quince Orchard Rd in Gaithersburg, the former location of JDS Shanghai, had their soft opening this past Friday.
The restaurant features Asian fusion dishes as well as traditional Szechuan cuisine.

4:30pm Update:
A fire at the Montgomery Village Eye Center (18310 Montgomery Village Ave Suite 140) around 1:20am is being investigated as arson in addition to the four other fires that occurred last night in the Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village area.
There were several fires that occurred overnight in the same geographical area (Gaithersburg/Montgomery) that are currently being investigated according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.
The fires occurred on Divot Place, Delcastle Road, Watkins Mill Circle, and East Diamond Avenue. They included a fence, garage, vehicle and a retail location.

Signage is now up at the upcoming Chopt location in the Kentlands neighborhood of Gaithersburg. The new restaurant is located next to MOD pizza on Commerce Square.
We spoke to representatives from the Rockville Chopt location two weeks ago were told us the new Kentlands location is scheduled to open in “late October”.
Update on Vine Alley in Kentlands (Former Wine Harvest Location)
Vine Alley, located at 114 Market. St in Gaithersburg, the former home of the Kentlands Wine Harvest, is hoping to open to by the end of the month.
Construction on Moe’s Southwest Grill at 19222 Montgomery Village Ave in the Montgomery Village Center began this past week.
The owners of the fast casual Mexican restaurant tell us that they plan to open by the end of the year.
