As of now we don’t have word on where in the Kentlands it will be located or when they expect to open, but we should have that information in the coming days.

Cinco De Mayo is a smaller, local chain with locations in Westminster, Columbia, and Middletown in Maryland. They also have a West Virginia location in Martinsburg and new Maryland location coming soon to Urbana.


The artist, Katie Giganti, who was hired through the organization Artists Circle Fine Art, grew up in Gaithersburg, MD, and frequented Quince Orchard Plaza during her youth to purchase art supplies. Her inspiration for the mural stemmed from the evolution of Quince Orchard to become the hub of diversity it is today, emphasizing the present and future while reflecting on its past. The mural features blossoming quince flowers, a map of the surrounding area and represents the future potential for growth in this community-centric destination.

“My early visits to Quince Orchard Plaza for art supplies and tools fueled the career I love as an artist,” said Katie Giganti. “I was honored to have been selected by Federal Realty to share my talents in a community that means so much to me.”


​To my knowledge, this is the first restaurant of its kind in our area. It is serving Gaithersburg and surrounding areas and is only available through the food delivery service, Uber Eats.

They offer BBQ (brisket, ribs, fried chicken sandwiches, pulled pork, etc.), sides (coleslaw, Mac & cheese, rice & beans, etc.), and desserts (Oreo brownie, Saturday morning cereal treats, and cocoa crispy treats).
