Person Fatally Struck by Freight Train Saturday Night in Gaithersburg
A freight train fatally struck a person Saturday night in Gaithersburg near an overpass by Quince Orchard Road according to a statement Bethesda Beat received from CSX.
On Sunday, the Montgomery County Department of Police posted a message on twitter that read, “TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Railroad crossing at Chestnut street near the entrance to Montgomery County Fairgrounds is closed due to a police investigation. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route.”
MCPD has not released any additional information at this time.
