3:55PM UPDATE: An employee informed me that the location was closed due to a hot water tank needing repair. They may re-open as early as later today.
Taco Bar in Rio (10003 Fields Rd.) has been closed by the MoCo Department of Health and Human Services.
This will be the seventh Wingstop location in Montgomery County.
They’re going into 6 Grand Corner Avenue – across from South Moon Under and the coming soon Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles. They’ll open later this year.
The bubble tea craze is hitting full stride in MoCo!
According to the Rio Washingtonian Facebook page, the authentic Chinese eatery will open later this year across from Dick’s Sporting Goods on Grand Corner Ave.
They’ll be taking over the old O’Leary’s and 555 Lounge location at 555 Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg.
According to Grow Gaithersburg, the new owners plan to renovate the interior and exterior of the hotel and convert it to a DoubleTree.
The hotel, located at 620 Perry Parkway, was previously owned by Marriott before converting to into a Hilton hotel well over a decade ago.
Last night, the City of Gaithersburg approved a sketch plan that would allow the Kentlands Starbucks location to move and potentially add a drive-thru.
Not everyone has been on board, as many Kentlands/Lakeland’s residents feel that at a drive-thru would not fit the mold of a walkable community, but it seems as thought it’s going to happen.
The winner will get 1 free burger per week for an entire year. You will be able to choose any of the menu burgers or the Burger of the week and can dine-in or carry-out! You’ll also get a free side of fries with your burger (substitutions may be upcharged)!
The free burgers are non-transferable, which means they can only be redeemed by the contest winner.
Though only about a decade old, the Seattle based chain has over 330 locations in the United States and United Kingdom.
Their other MoCo location is located in Silver Spring at 909 Ellsworth Dr.
Reader Chase Carter was able to send us some photos of the restaurant and it looks like it may take a while before the restaurant is serving Pizza again.
There is no time table for when the renovations will be completed, but it certainly looks like a long process before this location is up and running.
