Last month we let you know that Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen is set to make a splash at Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront. Now we know the restaurant will be taking over the space formerly occupied by Bach to Rock at 212 Boardwalk Place. An opening timeframe is not yet available.

Last month marked 23 years since Ganignunt “Felicia” Aiemsakul was last seen in the Gaithersburg/Laytonsville area in the early morning hours of March 4, 2002. The disappearance of the then 19-year-old remains a mystery, and authorities are still urging the public to come forward with any information that could help solve this cold case.

According to the Howard County Police Department, Edward Robinson, 31, of Columbia, MD, was arrested in Gaithersburg on Friday, April 9 and charged with two counts of murder in connection with a 2020 shooting that killed 30-year-old Rabiah Ahmad and led to the death of her newborn daughter Ahja. A Montgomery County jury found Raphael Mayorga, 21, of Frederick, guilty of second-degree assault, failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury, failure to stop at the scene, and multiple counts of fleeing from police. The collision resulted in a police sergeant Pat Kepp losing both of his legs. Mayorga faces up to 28 years plus 120 days in prison, with a sentencing hearing set for August 27, 2025.


Beyond Comics at 18749 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg will celebrate Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 3 from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, with free comics, a food drive benefiting the Frederick Food Bank, and a special appearance by comic creator John Watkins Chow.

Montgomery Village, MD native and University of Maryland standout Kaden Prather took a significant step toward his NFL aspirations this week, participating in the Washington Commanders’ local pro day on Tuesday. The Terrapins wide receiver, a product of Germantown’s Northwest High School, brings a decorated college resume and hometown pride to the draft process.
