Composer and pianist Sam Post and pianist Ralitza Patcheva performed selections from their newly released album The Well-“Tampered” Clavier on Saturday evening, October 18, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Glen Echo. The concert celebrated the release of their reimagined version of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, which keeps Bach’s original notes intact while transforming the music through fresh rhythmic interpretations. The recording, released Friday on the ACIS label, reimagines all 24 pairs of preludes and fugues from Bach’s first book.

The Glen Echo Fire Department has announced its Open House will be this Saturday, June 7, from 11:30am through 1:30pm. This year’s Open House will once again be held at Glen Echo’s Fire Station 711 on Massachusetts Avenue.
The 5th Annual Pride Family Day will be held on Sunday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park (7300 MacArthur Blvd). The event is hosted in collaboration with the office of Montgomery County Councilmember Evan Glass. (more…)

Per Montgomery County: The 52nd Annual Labor Day Weekend Art Show at Glen Echo Park will be held in the park’s historic Spanish Ballroom from noon-6 p.m. each day starting Saturday, Sept. 2, and running through Monday, Sept. 4. The exhibition features the work of more than 300 artists from the Mid-Atlantic Region. Admission is free.
