Brown announced a $45 million multistate settlement with Block, Inc., the parent company of Cash App, resolving allegations that the company failed to protect users from fraud, misled consumers about the app’s security, and did not provide the fraud resolution process required by law. Anthony G. Brown and the Maryland Department of the Environment have filed a lawsuit against DC Water seeking penalties and damages related to a January 19, 2026 sewer rupture that released an estimated 240 million gallons of raw sewage into the Potomac River and nearby tributaries over eight days.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that his Consumer Protection Division, in coordination with the Federal Trade Commission, has reached a settlement of civil charges against multiple Lindsay Automotive Group entities, including Lindsay Ford in Wheaton, over allegations that consumers were misled into paying more than advertised prices for vehicles.
