Maryland resident Pat Sajak is gearing up for his final spin as the host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Although Sajak stepped down from his long-time role on Wheel of Fortune in June 2024, he will return to lead episodes of the spinoff series one last time, starting this Wednesday, April 30th.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown and a coalition of 23 attorneys general, along with the governors of Kentucky and Pennsylvania, have filed a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s decision to significantly reduce AmeriCorps’ workforce and funding, arguing it unlawfully undermines federally authorized community service programs.

Governor Wes Moore signed a memorandum of agreement with the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to establish the “Capital of Quantum Benchmarking Hub” in Maryland, a partnership aimed at advancing quantum information science, securing federal funding, and fostering innovation in the state’s quantum industry. Today, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) announced the 2025-27 Purple Star Schools from eight school systems, recognizing their strong services and support for students from military families. The 23 schools, including one in Montgomery County (Glen Haven Elementary School in Wheaton), will be recognized at Tuesday’s State Board of Education meeting.

Earlier this month, permanent signage was installed for Maryland’s first Hey Tea at 891-F Rockville Pike in Wintergreen Plaza. Our friend @pike.and.rozay mentioned that the Tysons Corner location has experienced lines stretching around the corner for nearly two months since opening in February– though they’ve gotten smaller in recent weeks.
