U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI arrested David Alejandro Orellana-Aleman, a Salvadoran national and alleged high-ranking MS-13 leader, in Hyattsville, Maryland, on February 27. Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown and 19 other attorneys general filed an amicus brief in Wilcox v. Trump, arguing that the dismissal of NLRB member Gwynne Wilcox has left the agency unable to enforce labor laws. Attorney General Anthony G. Brown and a coalition of 22 other attorneys general have filed a second motion for enforcement in their lawsuit against the Trump administration, alleging the continued withholding of FEMA funds despite court orders to release them. The motion, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, seeks a court order to ensure the release of federal emergency funds for wildfire prevention, flood mitigation, cybersecurity, and disaster response programs.
