Southern fast-food favorite Zaxbys is set to debut in Maryland with three locations along the Eastern Shore, starting in Cambridge in late 2025, followed by Easton and West Ocean City/Berlin. Zaxbys menu features its signature fried chicken sandwiches, wings, chicken fingers (“Zaxby’s Zingers”), crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast.

On Wednesday, Governor Wes Moore announced $2.2 million in financial assistance through the Military Personnel and Veteran-owned Small Business Loan Program and the Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority to support small, minority, and veteran-owned businesses, aiming to create 36 new jobs and retain 131 workers in Maryland.

On Sunday, the 4-1 Washington Commanders will face off against the 3-2 Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore. Despite the Commanders’ strong start to the season, the Ravens are favored to win by 6.5 points as of Monday morning. Haotian Sun (34, Baltimore, MD) and Pengfei Xue (34, Germantown, MD) were sentenced today for participating in a “sophisticated scheme to defraud Apple Inc. out of millions of dollars’ worth of iPhones.” U.S. District Court Judge Timothy J. Kelly sentenced Sun to 57 months in prison, and sentenced Xue to 54 months in prison.

Niche has released its “2025 Best Public High Schools” rankings based on “rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. CBS’s 48 Hours will air an episode this Saturday, October 5 at 10 p.m. on the death of Sarah Harris, initially reported as an overdose by her boyfriend, Dr. James Ryan, an oral surgeon in Germantown, MD. An investigation revealed evidence of Ryan providing powerful drugs to Harris, leading to his conviction and 45-year prison sentence on charges of second-degree depraved heart murder.
