According to Maryland Lottery and Gaming, Maryland’s six casinos combined to generate $169,821,301 in revenue from slot machines and table games during July 2024, a decrease of $4,501,777 (-2.6%) compared to July 2023. Howard County police released images today showing the suspected shooter from The Mall in Columbia on July 27. Detectives have been reviewing hundreds of hours of footage from the mall’s expansive camera system. Through this review, police say they have located images that may aid in identification though it is difficult to see much in the images and video.

Michael Jordan is an avid open sea fisher. During the fishing season, MJ spends time traveling the coast in his 8 million dollar fishing boat to participate in fishing competitions. MJ and his boat Catch 23’ have been registered for The White Marlin Open in Ocean City for the last few years. Jordan is currently back in town as the tournament is set for August 5th-August 9th.

While Maryland has various restaurants that offer amazing burgers, Eater DC had put together a list of “Outstanding Burgers to Try in D.C. Right Now” that includes three Maryland spots that are a little bit closer to the city. The other 17 are in the actual city, with no Virginia restaurants included on the list.

The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) obtained three animal cruelty charges against an officer assigned to the Canine Section. Corporal David Acosta is charged in connection with the mistreatment of a dog assigned to him, a two-year-old bloodhound named Daisy.

On Wednesday, Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced appointments to the Maryland Commission on Hate Crime Response and Prevention, which is composed of 25 stakeholders from a cross-section of law enforcement, state and local institutions, and organizations representing communities targeted by hate crimes.
