Did you know that the first ice cream on the continent was served in Maryland in 1744 when Governor Thomas Bladen served up the sweet, creamy treat? The flavor was strawberry. The first commercial sales of ice cream were also in Maryland when a Baltimore milkman by the name of Jacob Fussell began the commercial selling of ice cream in the state back in 1851 (courtesy of Visit Maryland).

MCB Real Estate, a commercial real estate investment management firm with nationwide holdings, announced on Monday that it has purchased Takoma Park Shopping Center, located at 8750 Arliss St. in Takoma Park, MD. MCB acquired the property from an undisclosed private seller, represented by JLL.

Many here in Montgomery County have enjoyed some aspect of The Maryland SoccerPlex since it opened nearly 25 years ago. The SoccerPlex is a 24-field complex that welcomes more than 1 million visitors a year. Opened in 2000, the Maryland SoccerPlex was built with a public-private partnership between the Maryland Soccer Foundation and the Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) and is located at 18031 Central Park Circle in Boyds, MD.

Montgomery County residents (local Playa Bowls proprietors) are opening a location in Ocean City, MD. The restaurant opens at 11651 Coastal Highway on Saturday , June 15th at 9am with the first fifty customer receiving a free bowl and t-shirt.
