Back in June, we let you know that “boozy” Taco Bell (Taco Bell Cantina) was coming to Montgomery County. Construction began earlier this year at the future home of Taco Bell Cantina at 8662 Colesville Road and now it’s taking another step closer to opening.

Per Montgomery County Government: “All Maryland employers will have to pay their hourly employees a minimum wage of $15 per hour starting Jan. 1, 2024. This requirement stems from the enactment of Maryland Senate Bill 555 (SB555), also known as the Fair Wage Act of 2023, which was signed into law by Maryland Governor Wes Moore on April 11, 2023.

Per the Maryland Cannabis Administration: “The initial business licensing round for new cannabis growers, processors, and dispensaries closed on December 12, with more than 1,700 applications submitted across all three license categories. This application round marked the first cannabis licensing round in the nation that was exclusively open to qualifying social equity applicants. (more…)
Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland (12.18.23): “U.S. District Judge George L. Russell, III sentenced Michael Ghali, age 35, of Fairfax, Virginia, today to 38 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release for a federal cyberstalking charge, related to sexually explicit and threatening messages and emails he sent to two victims. Ghali has been detained since his arrest and remains detained. (more…)
