Per the State of Maryland:

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced the first round of awardees for Project Restore, a $25 million economic recovery initiative that provides financial incentives for small businesses and commercial developers to revitalize vacant retail and commercial space. A total of 144 businesses in 23 jurisdictions will receive $3.6 million in rental subsidies and $7.2 million in business operations grants over the next two years, totaling $10.8 million in support.


Governor Larry Hogan announced this morning via tweet that he had tested positive for COVID-19. Hogan, who is vaccinated and has received his booster shot, says he is feeling fine and encouraged residents to get vaccinated or their booster shots as soon as possible.

“This morning, as part of my regular testing routine, I received a positive rapid test for COVID-19. I have been vaccinated and boosted, and I am feeling fine at the moment.”

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced a series of additional actions to address the potential for a further surge in COVID-19 hospitalizations due to the convergence of the Delta and Omicron variants.


Governor Larry Hogan placed the first official sports bet at MGM Grand during a betting preview on Thursday, betting on the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Football Team to make it to the Super Bowl.

He placed the first official sports bet at Maryland Live on Friday, going with underdog Navy (located in Maryland) to defeat Army in the annual Army/Navy game. He won that bet, and will donate his winnings to the Maryland Food Bank.

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced new awardees for six state revitalization programs administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). Nearly $63 million was awarded to 214 projects and activities that promote community development and economic growth. All 23 counties and Baltimore City received awards through one or more of the six programs.


Maryland Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wes Moore has announced Aruna Miller as his running mate. Miller, a Montgomery County resident, worked at the Department of Transportation in Montgomery County for 25 years and from 2010 to 2018, represented District 15 in the Maryland House of Delegates.

Miller ran for Congress in 2018 in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District and finished second.
