The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is continuing its Sweep the Salt pilot program to remove excess road salt from streets near sensitive watershed areas, helping to prevent water contamination. MCDOT reported that the program collected nearly 50 tons of salt and debris following winter storms, and based on initial results, plans to continue the initiative next year.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOTs) Ride On Reimagined plan will modernize the bus network over several years, with the first phase launching in June 2025 to improve service efficiency and route alignment. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a hybrid public hearing on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed Cheltenham Drive Bikeway project in Bethesda. The project aims to add separated bike lanes along Cheltenham Drive and Norfolk Avenue as part of the Bethesda Loop bicycle network, and public input may influence the final design.
