A father’s solution to help his blind daughter participate in an Easter Egg hunt is spreading across the United States thanks to the efforts of military and law enforcement members.
David Hyche’s daughter was 4 months old when she lost her vision and has been the motivation behind his research and passion to manufacture “audible” Easter eggs. His work as an ATF agent inspired him to tweak designs until he had eggs equipped with beepers so his daughter and others with vision loss could participate in egg hunts.
A electronic scooter’s lithium ion battery overheated early Tuesday morning, causing a fire in a third story apartment on Bradley Blvd in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue PIO Pete Piringer.
MCFRS units were called to the scene at approximately 4:30am Tuesday morning to fight the blaze and escort residents out of the building.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units responded to a call on Barnes Road in Damascus at approximately 3:45pm on Thursday, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.
Units arrived on the scene of a house fire on Barnes Road, between Clarksburg Road and Bethesda Church Road. At least one person was trapped inside and rescued by responding units. Units also prevented a person from re-entering the burning home and also rescued several dogs from the property.
Reecey, the dog that was rescued from a burning, smoke-filled condo on March 30th by MCFRS, only to go missing after bolting from firefighters, has been reunited with her owner.
Her owner provided an update on Saturday via twitter, “Thank you everybody there’s so many people to think my girl is back home and doing great.”
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units responded to a call for a fire on Wednesday evening at approximately 6pm on Walkers Choice Road in Montgomery Village.
Upon arriving, firefighters helped evacuate the three story apartment building and began fighting the fire on the first floor/terrace level of the apartment.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units responded to a call for a fire on the 11300 block of Cloverhill Court in Kenp Mill at approximately 6:15pm on Monday.
Units arrived to find an outdoor storage unit (shed) on fire with the fire extending to the fence and nearby grass and bushes.

A collision involving three vehicles occurred on Clara Barton Parkway in the area of Little Falls Bridge at approximately 4:20am this morning, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue PIO Pete Piringer.
A fire at the Willow Manor At Fairland complex, in Fairland, has left approximately 30 units uninhabitable, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue PIO, Pete Piringer.
Rescue units were initially dispatched at around 11am for a fire in the stairwell of the apartment complex, which is a senior living center for adults 62 years and up.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services announced an arson arrest hours after responding to a call for a fire on the 11400 block of Monterrey Dr. Off of Veirs Mill Rd in Wheaton.
At approximately 2pm on Tuesday, March 15th, MCFRS units responded to a call for a fire in a basement bedroom of a single family home. The fire was quickly put out and there were no injuries, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.
There is currently an extended road closure on Lone Oak Drive (off of Democracy Blvd) between Montauk Avenue and Mayfield Drive, in Bethesda, due to a traffic collision.
Montgomery County Police advises drivers to seek an alternate route and to expect delays.
