“I like to check to see how many top prizes are still out there for each game,” the Prince George’s County resident said. “It feels like I have a better shot at finding a big one.”
Before leaving home to meet friends, the 47-year-old frequent player noticed that Money Bag Multiplier, a $10 scratch-off game that debuted in April, still had one $100,000 top prize available. He also noted that three of the game’s $50,000 second-tier prizes had not yet been claimed.
“I was visiting my parents and when I left their house, I noticed the store where my dad buys his tickets. That’s all it took.” With the Lottery suddenly and unexpectedly on her mind, she kept an eye out for another Lottery retailer as she drove home. This brought her to Fenton Citgo in Silver Spring.
The Montgomery County woman chose Bonus Match 5 as her game that day. “I don’t know why I chose it to play,” the human resources specialist said. “It just felt right.”
Per the Maryland Lottery: “In the span of four Multi-Match drawings between Oct. 12 and Oct. 23, three Maryland Lottery players matched all six numbers and took home the jackpot. One of those winners, a Hagerstown resident, claimed his $510,000 prize at Lottery headquarters on Oct. 26. The Washington County retailer who sold the $510,000 winning ticket can celebrate, too. Old Orchard Liquors located at 17619 Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown will receive a $1,000 bonus.
The two other winning tickets remain unclaimed. A $630,000 jackpot-winning ticket was sold for the Oct. 12 drawing at the Eagles Nest on Herman Highway in Chesapeake City, and a $500,000 ticket from the Oct. 23 drawing was purchased at Seabrook BP in Seabrook.
The construction worker was on his way to work Monday morning when he quickly stopped at the Safeway in Pasadena. He had a scratch-off he wanted to scan and it turned out to be a $50 winner. The lucky guy used his win to purchase two $20 scratch-offs, including a $1 Million Royale ticket, and one $10 scratch-off. He rushed off to work, not looking at his tickets until later.
The lucky player immediately called his girlfriend to share the news. “I was stuttering that I hit and she thought I was saying that I was in a car accident,” he chuckled. “She said, ‘hit what, what did you hit’.”
The 53-year-old plans to pay off bills. He described the experience of the big win as “exciting”. When he started to scratch his ticket, he instantly saw he was a winner. The first number in his “Your Numbers” was 03 and the $50,000 prize was underneath that number. Then he looked over and saw 03 in his “Winning Numbers”. That resulted in the top prize of $50,000. “I couldn’t believe it. I then checked it in the store, and it was true,” said the maintenance worker.
The lucky ticket was purchased at the Germantown BP on 19911 Aircraft Drive in Montgomery County. The Germantown retailer will receive a bonus of $500. The $20 $50,000 Cash started back on Dec. 29 with 160 prizes. Per the Maryland Lottery: “Congratulations to Maryland’s newest multimillionaire! A Mt. Airy resident won the top prize of $2 million on the $30 Cash is King scratch-off. The happy player scratched off his instant ticket and saw one of the winning numbers was 39. On the sixth row of the game, he found a matching 39 with the $2 million prize underneath the number.
The 63-year-old purchased the winning scratch-off at 108 Liquors in Clarksville. For selling the top-prize winning instant ticket, the Howard County retailer receives a bonus from the Lottery of $2,000, which is based on a percentage of the prize’s value.

A winning lottery ticket worth $510,000 remains unclaimed as of October 23, according to the Maryland Lottery. The ticket was sold on October 17 at a liquor store in Hagerstown. Per MD Lottery (10.20.23):

The 64-year-old found her Lottery luck waiting at Talbert’s Ice & Beverage Service, which is located at 5234 River Road in Bethesda. She frequently goes there to play her favorite Lottery games. The lucky lady told Lottery officials that she rarely checks her tickets soon after buying them. But on July 20, she received the free Pick 5 ticket for that evening’s drawing. She decided to check the ticket later to see if she won anything. The Montgomery County resident thought she had matched a few numbers, but was unsure. A scan of the ticket’s prize check area quickly confirmed the big win.
Although excited, the happy lady kept quiet upon learning of her $50,000 windfall. She plans to use her winnings to pay bills, donate to a charity of her choice and possibly take a vacation. She usually works temporary part-time jobs, which often consists of elder care. When she’s not working or playing Lottery games, the winner enjoys reading a good book.
According to the Maryland Lottery, two $1 million winning Powerball tickets that were sold recently in Maryland remain unclaimed. The first ticket was purchased in Snow Hill, MD at the Duck In II Convenience for the Sept. 27 drawing and the second was purchased at Golden Ring Liquors in Rosedale, MD for the Sept. 30 drawing. Lottery winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
