A Gaithersburg man is $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket at the 7-Eleven located in the Walnut Hill Shopping Center in Gaithersburg. Additional details below courtesy of the Maryland Lottery:

“A Montgomery County man, who just recently started playing the Lottery, felt extra lucky this past Monday. That feeling led him to a nearby 7-Eleven to purchase two Pick 5 tickets. A couple unexpected visitors knocked on the 63-year-old’s door to talk about the meaning of life. Feeling euphoric and enthusiastic after their conversation, he decided to test his luck by picking up two Pick 5 tickets containing his license plate number. “I was having the craziest day,” he said. “Random things that never happen to me were happening.”

$1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket Sold at MoCo 7-Eleven Remains Unclaimed

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. 21-Year-Old Wheaton Resident Wins $50,000

“I handed it to my uncle,” the Montgomery County resident said, “and he had the (Lottery) app on his phone and scanned it.” The low-key winner said his family — including his uncle — were happy about his Lottery luck. The construction worker plans to spend some of the prize on a vacation cruise or trip.

The $5 Extreme Green game has one $50,000 top prize remaining unclaimed and thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000. The lucky Lottery retailer that sold the scratch-off can also celebrate. The Montgomery County business will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.

$100,000 Winning Scratch-off Sold at Gaithersburg Shell

The 47-year-old visited the Quince Orchard Shell gas station located at 501 Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg, which is near his workplace. He went to the Lottery kiosk and bought one of the $10 bingo-themed scratch-offs. A short while later, he discovered that the scratch-off he selected at random was a $100,000 top-prize winner.

“My body started shaking,” the player told Lottery officials, noting that the shock of his win was too much for him. He immediately called his wife and son to share the great news. The Germantown resident has no definite plans for his prize yet other than paying bills and paying off loans on his cars.

$1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket Sold at MoCo 7-Eleven Remains Unclaimed

Check your tickets for a $1 million win if you visited 7-Eleven #11572 at 12405 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Three other players in California, Iowa and Ohio also matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing to capture $1 million second-tier prizes.

The winning numbers to match were 7, 9, 15, 19 and 25; the Mega Ball number was 4 and the optional Megaplier number was 2. Maryland had a total of 11,721 winners in the Tuesday night drawing. Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location until they can claim their prize.

$50,000-Winning Powerball Ticket Sold at Safeway Remains Unclaimed

This year, the Maryland Lottery has sold one $1 million winning Powerball ticket, 28 third-tier winning tickets worth $50,000 to $150,000 and four third-tier Double Play tickets of $50,000 and $50,007. In 2022, the state sold two $2 million second-tier winning tickets, seven $1 million second-tier winning tickets, 92 third-tier winning tickets and five Double Play third-tier winning tickets.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

$100,000 Scratch-off Sold at Gaithersburg Safeway

The retired transit worker said most of his winnings will help pay off his daughter’s college loans. “The wife and I might split the rest on home improvement projects,” he noted. The lucky grocery store that sold the instant ticket was Safeway #1620 at 20211 Goshen Road in Gaithersburg. The Montgomery County retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. The lucky player is the seventh $100,000 winner since the game was launched on Jan. 23. Three top prizes are still unclaimed along with four unclaimed $50,000 prizes and others ranging from $10 to $10,000.

The Gold X50 game is a member of a Gold Multiplier family of games and the Gold Multiplier second-chance promotion. Upcoming entry deadlines for the chance to win $50,000 are April 24, May 22 and June 19. Other members of the scratch-off family are the $1 Gold X5, $2 Gold X10 and $5 Gold X20.

The 44-year-old found her lucky instant ticket at Del Mercado Exxon located at 2201 Bel Pre Road in Silver Spring, where she frequently stops on her way home from work. She bought two In the Money scratch-offs and three of the new Frogger instant tickets, which offer a second-chance promotion. It’s only fitting that she revealed her $100,000 top prize while at home cooking dinner. The Montgomery County resident also won $43 on the Frogger games. Soon after her discovery, she phoned her mother to share the great news.

When asked of her plans for her prize, the happy winner said that she will purchase a new home and continue taking care of her beloved niece and nephews. The $10 In the Money instant ticket went on sale in February with eight $100,000 top prizes; five remain along with seven unclaimed $20,000 prizes and 18 unclaimed $10,000 prizes. Her lucky Montgomery County retailer, Del Mercado Exxon, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a top-prize winning scratch-off of $100,000.”
