Wilson “Lee” Faris, Jr., (also known as “Poppy”), 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 after a two-year battle with ALS. Many may know Faris as “The Voice of the Cougars” where he spent more than two decades as the announcer of every home game of the Quince Orchard High School football team.
Gotham FC on Wednesday confirmed that forward and Montgomery County native Midge Purce suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during the club’s match against the Portland Thorns at Providence Park on Sunday, March 24. Purce will undergo surgery.
