Since 1990, the amount of residents identified as Asian/Pacific Isl. has nearly doubled. Black or African American residents have seen an almost 6% increase in population. The Hispanic population has nearly tripled, and the Non-Hispanic/White population has seen a decrease of approximately 28%. “Other Race” has seen an increase of almost 4%.

The 1990 MoCo numbers are very similar to the 2016 numbers for Frederick County, which are:


ontgomery County was announced as one of the 20 finalists for the second Amazon headquarters.

This morning Amazon announced that it narrowed the list of potential locations for its second headquarters to 20 areas. Before today there were 238 proposals, so making it to the final 20 is a big step for MoCo.


It has been everywhere the last few days, but let me break this down in a way that’s easy to understand for everyone.

The newly approved federal Republican tax-cut bill limits the SALT deduction (state and local taxes to include property tax and income tax) to $10,000.


Tree lighting ceremonies will take place at Pike & Rose (4pm-7pm) and Rio Washingtonian (6:30pm-8pm) on November 17th. Rockville Town Square will hold theirs on November 18th (5pm-8pm).

Damascus, Northwest, Paint Branch, and Quince Orchard High Schools will be playing in the regional football finals on Friday (NW and QO will be playing each other).

Cupcakes seem to have weathered the storm, so maybe they’re here to stay! I’m an ice cream guy and always found myself settling for frozen yogurt because there were so many places I could get it. I can’t say I’m upset, but I always feel for a business when they’re forced to close their doors.
