Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile female from Rockville.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an attempted commercial robbery of the Exhale Smoke Shop in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.


A jury convicted defendant Biet Van Tran, 65, of Silver Spring on charges of first-degree murder for the stabbing death of Linh Pham, 23, and two counts of attempted first-degree murder for the attacks on Quy Luc, 30, and Thi Nguyen, 19.

Tran faces life in prison and is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Sept. 20th, 2022, at 1:30p.m.


A jury has found defendant, Joshua Toure, 26, of Boyds, guilty of first-degree felony murder, second-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, for the death of 28-year-old Joseph Davis.

Toure faces life in prison plus an additional 20 years. The verdict came down late yesterday evening, and a sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.


A grand jury has declined to indict the Montgomery County police officers involved in the shooting death of Ryan LeRoux on July 16, 2021.

LeRoux was shot in front of the McDonald’s located at 18273 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg after an incident that took place in front of the restaurants drive-thru.


On Friday, March 25, the Montgomery County Police Department team participated in the annual Special Olympics Maryland Police Plunge. The event takes place each year at Sandy Point State Park on the Chesapeake Bay.

According to organizers, the first Police Plunge took place in 2012 and raised over $100,000. Since then, agencies have raised over $2 million dollars. Learn more at www.plungemd.com
