Montgomery County Recreation is collecting new and gently used formalwear for its Fifth Annual Prom Couture Closet giveaway event, scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center in Burtonsville.
Montgomery County residents will be able to continue working toward their health and fitness goals at no cost in 2026.
Montgomery County Recreation, along with the cities of Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Takoma Park, has officially endorsed the Children’s Bill of Rights in Sports, developed by the Aspen Institute’s Project Play initiative, which promotes safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate youth sports opportunities.
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich announced his intent to nominate Councilmember Gabe Albornoz as the next Director of the Department of Recreation, a position Albornoz previously held from 2007 to 2018. (more…)
Montgomery County Recreation concluded the regular season of its NFL Flag Football leagues this past weekend at Wheaton High School. The program, which is offered each fall and spring for youth ages 6–14, drew 468 participants this season, including 84 girls. Games were held at both Wheaton High School and Damascus Community Recreation Center. (more…)
