Today, the Montgomery County Council voted to approve Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA 24-02), Agricultural and Rural Zones—Campground, a zoning measure that will allow people to stay overnight in the County’s Agricultural Reserve and other rural areas. (more…)
On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Council enacted Bill 6-24, Property Tax Credit—Disabled Veterans, to establish a new property tax credit in Montgomery County for honorably discharged veterans who are severely disabled and earn $100,000 or less in federal adjusted gross income. (more…)

At today’s County Council meeting, Council Vice President Kate Stewart and Councilmember Natali Fani-González will introduce a bill to establish a pilot program aimed at reducing excessive vehicular noise in Montgomery County. Under Bill 14-24, the Vehicle Noise Abatement Monitoring Pilot Program would require the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) to implement automated noise abatement monitoring systems, or “noise camera” devices, to help enforce existing state exhaust noise laws.
