Registration is open for the 2024 Montgomery County History Conference on October 19 at Montgomery College’s Rockville campus, featuring a keynote on Thomas Smallwood, nine breakout sessions, and a documentary screening on local history, with tickets priced at $75 and discounts available for students.
Nick Sevilla, a veteran middle school math teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Germantown, who grew up in Montgomery County and attended local schools including North Chevy Chase, Barnsley, Westland, and Bethesda-Chevy Chase, has successfully combined his love for teaching with his passion for gaming. With nine years of experience in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), he embraced new opportunities to engage his students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a pedestrian collision that occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Olney involving a pedestrian who fell from the tailgate of a pickup truck and was run over by the truck as it backed up.
