Former Prince George’s Community College President Named Interim President of Montgomery College

Dr. Charlene Mickens Dukes, former president of Prince George’s Community College, has been named interim president of Montgomery College by the college’s board of trustees.


County Executive Marc Elrich and Councilmember Evan Glass Commemorate Pride Month with Progress Pride Flag Raising Ceremony

on Monday, June 7th, County Executive Marc Elrich, Councilmember Evan Glass, and other Councilmembers joined together to officially commemorate Pride Month in Montgomery County by raising the Progress Pride Flag in Rockville outside of the Executive Office Building. Since 2019, Councilmember Glass has spearheaded this annual commemoration and organized numerous community events to promote acceptance and inclusion across the community.


There will be a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic Wednesday, June 9, from 12-7pm at Montgomery Blair High School at 51 University Blvd E in Silver Spring.

The clinic will be using the Pfizer vaccine and is intended for Montgomery County Public School students 12 years and older.


Belward Farm to Become Johns Hopkins Medical Office & Surgery Center

For a long time, there was a debate over what should happen with the Belward Farm property, located at the intersection of Muddy Branch and Darnestown Road.  It appears that we finally have an answer.  Recently, development application signs labeled “Johns Hopkins Medical Office & Surgery Center” were placed along the edges of the Belward Farm property. 


Council President Hucker and County Executive Elrich to Host Bill Signing Ceremony for Ezechiel’s Law Tomorrow, June 8

Council President Tom Hucker and County Executive Marc Elrich will be hosting a bill signing for Ezechiel’s Law tomorrow at 9am in Rockville. Ezechiel’s Law requires landlords and apartment building owners to install and maintain window guards in apartments with children under the age of 10.
