Calling all builders, crafters and woodworkers. Montgomery Parks will hold its annual Urban Wood Sale on the weekend of November 9-10, 2024. The Urban Wood Sale will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10, 2024 from 8:00am until noon at Montgomery Parks’ Green Farm Maintenance Facility (8301 Turkey Thicket Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20879).

Montgomery Parks’ historic Ovid Hazen Wells Carousel will provide its last ride at Wheaton Regional Park on Sunday, October 27, 2024. After that, the carousel, which has thrilled thousands of children, will be refurbished and relocated to its new home in Ovid Hazen Wells Recreational Park in Clarksburg. Tickets are still available for a nostalgic ride on the carved wooden horses.
The Maryland-National Capital Park Police is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the peripheral responsible for setting a fire at a Gaithersburg park last month.

The Ovid Hazen Wells Carousel will offer its final rides at Wheaton Regional Park on Sunday, October 27, before being refurbished and relocated to its original intended home at Ovid Hazen Wells Recreational Park in Clarksburg.
