New program uses modern technology to tell stories of the past
Montgomery Parks is celebrating the debut of a new interactive digital history experience at Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park. The family friendly event will include refreshments and a brief speaking program, after which the public is invited to experience the innovativeaugmented reality (AR) technology and tour the historic site.

MudFest 2024 is taking place on June 15th from 11am until 3pm at the Woodstock Equestrian Special Park, 20207 Darnestown Road, in Beallsville.
Montgomery Parks is marking the 15th anniversary of its Community Garden program by creating a digital archive of the experience. Through the years, hundreds of gardeners have left their mark on the land and Montgomery Parks wants to preserve their stories. Gardeners are asked to submit their fondest memories of the program online to Montgomery Parks digital gardening archive. The stories in the archive will be used to develop future gardening programs and may one day be featured in an online display dedicated to community gardening.
Montgomery Parks is now offering public tours of the historic Woodlawn Manor House at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park in Sandy Spring, following the completion of much-needed repairs. The historic manor dates to the early 1800s and served as the home of the Palmer family who owned and managed the farm for over 100 years.
