Maryland State Police are investigating a Salisbury man accused of impersonating a state trooper and unlawfully using a patrol vehicle, and are seeking public assistance from anyone who may have encountered him.
The Maryland State Police will join communities statewide for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, with troopers from all 23 barracks participating in family-friendly events aimed at strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the public. Multiple illegal car rallies were broken up in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties early Saturday as part of a coordinated enforcement operation by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, resulting in three arrests, including a Silver Spring man charged with multiple traffic offenses.

In the early hours of Thursday, July 31, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue. The incident, reported at approximately 12:09am, occurred in the area of the Red Carpet Inn in Takoma Park.
Chief Antonio DeVaul of the Takoma Park Police Department has announced the arrests of 18-year-old Mario Collins and a 16-year-old male juvenile, both from Washington DC. The arrests are in connection with a stolen vehicle, the possession of a stolen handgun, and the assault on police officers.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that during the ninth week of its Summer Traffic Task Force, officers conducted 107 traffic stops resulting in 17 DUI arrests and issued over 300 citations and warnings, with cumulative totals since the initiative began reaching 127 DUI arrests and more than 2,400 total enforcement actions. The City of Takoma Park is actively pursuing and has recently gained legislative authority to implement an Automated Stop Sign Enforcement Pilot Program, specifically focusing on school zones. The Takoma Park Police Department is inviting the community to join them for a Community Engagement and Informational Session regarding the recently passed Automated Stop Sign Enforcement Bill, which designates Takoma Park as a pilot jurisdiction for this new initiative.
