Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have arrested 32-year-old Louis Jeffery Hanley of Olney, MD. He faces charges of first-degree assault, firearm use in a violent crime, and reckless endangerment stemming from an incident that took place last December in Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown neighborhood.
With increased coyote sightings recently in the area, the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) is reminding residents not to feed coyotes, secure trash and pet food, and keep pets leashed. (more…)
On March 21, 2025, at approximately 7:38 am, Takoma Park Police officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Caribbean Market, 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Upon arrival, they found the front glass shattered and spoke with an employee who had just arrived to open the store.
Prince George’s County Police Officer Simeon Daramola was charged with driving while impaired early Saturday morning in Laurel while off duty in a marked police cruiser, leading to the suspension of his police powers and an internal investigation. (more…)

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police Montgomery County Division have issued a statement after the Montgomery County Police Department announced that human remains were discovered in Rock Creek Regional Park on March 1, 2025. While the exact location of the remains is not being disclosed to protect the investigation, authorities assure the public that there is no immediate safety threat and encourage park visitors to continue their activities as usual.
