Master plan focusing on the county’s life sciences industry hub in the heart of the I-270 Corridor receives County Council approval.

The Montgomery County Council on July 30 voted to approve the Great Seneca Plan: Connecting Life and Science, a master plan developed by the Montgomery County Planning Department. The plan focuses on strengthening the economic competitiveness of the Life Sciences Center, a thriving hub that is host to a diverse population and leading life sciences, medical, and educational institutions and organizations along the I-270 Corridor. Key recommendations can be seen below.


Metro and Montgomery County officials launched an initiative Wednesday, to seek an experienced developer to build a major transit-oriented life sciences center at the North Bethesda Metrorail Station, that will include housing, office, retail, and public spaces.

Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) has appointed Nancy Regelin as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2024. Nancy, who has been on REDI’s Board since 2010 and served as Vice Chair since 2020, also chairs the Maryland Women’s Business Center Advisory Board. She succeeds Susan Prince, who has led REDI’s Board since 2020.
