Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the scene of a crash involving two vehicles on Shady Grove Road, at the I-270 ramp, on Wednesday evening. According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, several patients and being evaluated and some lanes are blocked.


Kura Revolving Sushi continues to work towards opening at 12266 Rockville Pike in Federal Plaza later this year, taking over part of the space that was recently home to Chuy’s and previously home to Ruby Tuesday (full menu below). Torchy’s Tacos will be taking over the other part of the space.

Dawson’s Market, which announced last month that it would be permanently closing its location at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square at the end of June, has revealed a new partnership with the Universities at Shady Grove. Dawson’s will provide catering services and manage the campus’s cafeteria and coffee bar starting this summer. Full press release below:

Our lineup of amazing artists includes John Watkins-Chow (MAD magazine, Marvel) and Paul Niemeyer (original video game artist for Mortal Kombat, Tron, and Super Pacman). DC Conspiracy, the DMV area’s organization for small press comic book creators will have members in attendance. All of our guests will be available to sign autographs and take photos with fans.


Pike Center, located on Rockville Pike and just south of Twinbrook Parkway, has been a popular shopping center in Rockville for decades. It’s home to longtime tenant and late 90s/early 2000s juggernaut TGI Friday’s and was previously home to popular restaurants Bagel City and CiCi’s Pizza and the now-shuttered home accessories chain Pier 1 imports. After a little time staying relatively dormant, there has been some action at the Kimco development. Though not much has changed since our last update, below you’ll see a list of what’s new and what’s coming soon to the shopping center.
