Swiss chocolatier Läderach is now open in Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The store is located on the mall’s upper level, in the space previously occupied by Chocolate Moonshine. Läderach is renowned for its FrischSchoggi (fresh chocolate) slabs, pralines, and truffles.
Bethesda Bike & Ski, located at 6917 Arlington Road in Bethesda, is set to open on Thursday, August 1. The store will provide bike, ski, and snowboard sales, tune-ups, lessons, repairs, and rentals. (more…)

The list is limited to restaurants that use Open Table for reservations and, as with any list based on the opinions of others, will likely have plenty who disagree. The Washington Post’s Zoe Glasser recently went out to find the DC area’s “best ice cream”– trying 12 shops in two weeks and rating them by flavor, texture, and scoop size to come up with a total score. Three ice cream shops, one in VA, one in DC, and one in MD (right here in Montgomery County), tied for the highest total score.
