Kura Revolving Sushi has announced it will be opening on Saturday, October 5th at 12266 Rockville Pike in Federal Plaza (Rockville). The conveyer belt, revolving sushi spot is taking over part of the space that was recently home to Chuy’s and previously home to Ruby Tuesday next to the recently opened Torchy’s Tacos.
California Tortilla announced it has signed an agreement with a new franchise group to open a new location in Montgomery County by early next year. The group consists of former Olney location employee, Erin Bila, her husband, Rogerio, and a business partner (more…)
In June, we reported that construction had begun at Dave’s Hot Chicken at 12345 Columbia Pike in White Oak. According to a representative from Dave’s, the location is anticipating a mid-November opening. (more…)
Dunkin’ has officially opened its new “Next Generation” restaurant at the Friendship Heights Metro Station in Chevy Chase, MD.
Permanent signage is up for Ross at 12940 Middlebrook Rd. in the Germantown Commons shopping center. According to its Google listing, the store is scheduled to open the week of October 13.
L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is opening soon at 785 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in the Ritchie Center. The restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by Superbowl Noodle House, which permanently closed in March. (more…)

Torchy’s Tacos, known for their “Damn Good Tacos,” will hold the grand opening of its first DMV location (12266 Rockville Pike, Rockville) on Wednesday, October 2nd at 10am. The first 100 people in line will receive a keychain that lets them get free queso for a year one. We had a chance to stop by during the restaurant’s soft opening to provide you with a first look (video and photos below). (more…)
With signage up since last winter in the windows of the upcoming Tatte at 12232 Rockville Pike in Towne Plaza (the shopping center next to the Original Pancake House on Rockville Pike), many have asked when the second Maryland location will open. A representative from the Bethesda location has told us to expect a late December or January opening.
Sheetz has requested final site plan approval for a 4,959 square foot Sheetz retail building and accessory automobile filling station. This would be the company’s smallest location in order for it to fit within the Walnut Hill Shopping Center (16529 South Frederick Avenue) in Gaithersburg.
Spirit Halloween has opened its second Montgomery County location at 13822 Georgia Avenue in the space that was previously home to Tuesday Morning, according to the Spirit Halloween website.
