Back in January we let you know that Eggspectation, a restaurant that serves “elevated American cuisine with a lengthy all-day breakfast menu alongside hearty lunch and dinner fare”, is returning to Montgomery County with its upcoming Burtonsville location. We recently reported that the latest update from the restaurant revealed the goal of a fall 2024 opening, and now Burtonsville Crossing has released some renderings of what to expect (seen below).

Annapolis-based Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has opened its first Montgomery County location in the space that recently the temporary home of Locally Crafted, and previously home to Joseph A. Bank, at 201A Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront.

With Han Spot and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls now open, Rio Lakefront is looking to fill a couple more spaces in order to be fully leased. We learned today that Koi Sushi will be taking the vacant space between Chipotle and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls.
Umi Hot Pot, Sushi & Seafood Buffet Opens Today (Friday, August 9th) in Old Miller’s Ale House Space

Back in March 2023, we reported that Umi Hot Pot, Sushi & Seafood Buffet would be taking over the space that was recently home to Miller’s Ale House and previously home to Hooters and Shakey’s at 1471 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Umi has shared on social media that it will be opening today– Friday, August 9th.
Spirit Halloween is now open at 30 Grand Corner Ave. in Gaithersburg’s Rio. The store is currently open 12-7pm daily.
The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair returns on Friday, August 9th and will run through Saturday, August 17th. The Fair Foodie Awards are taking place on the first day and we’ll let you know all the winners for this upcoming year right after. For now, here’s a list of participating food vendors:

Amore Eats opened in May 2022 at the Exxon (then a Liberty gas station) located at 1900 Rockville Pike in Rockville. In the last 2+ years, it has gained a reputation for offering some of the best Taiwanese cuisine in the area (video of the experience can be seen below).
