The mall has suffered some major losses lately with Starbucks and McDonald’s closing, and JC Penney announcing they’ll be closing in the near future.

Last March the D.C. based Mexican restaurant signed a lease to open up a new location in The Blairs shopping center in Silver Spring.
After some delays we are told that the restaurant is “very close” to opening.

Over the weekend we were sent a link to an online auction announcing Baja Fresh lost their lease and will be making a complete liquidation.

Founder Jeni Britton Bauer started the chain in 2002 and has amassed a large social media following in recent years. This will be the 35th location nationwide and the first in Maryland. It is expected to open this fall.

Wang Dynasty will open May 1st in the location that was home to Shanghai Village in Bethesda (4929 Bethesda Ave.).

We are speculating that this will be similar to concepts like Downtown Crown Wine & Beer (Gaithersburg), Brew Belly (Olney), and Knowles Station (Kensington)– A craft beer & wine spot you can hang out in, drink some beer/wine, eat some food, and enjoy time with friends.

Last night a thread was started on Reddit, a social news aggregation and discussion website, that made the rumor public.
We reached out to Buffalo Wild Wings two weeks ago and this morning and were told the same thing both times– “We are engaged in renewal negotiations and there are no plans to close or move from this location.”

Dog Haus is celebrating 1 years of the WÜRST in Bethesda! They also recently announced that they’ll be opening a location in the Kentlands later this year, so this is your chance to preview the restaurant at a fraction of the price.

We were informed of the closing last week, but management told us that the restaurant would be staying open. Earlier this afternoon we were told that today would be the last day for the Bethesda restaurant.
Crave has 10 other locations nationwide, primarily in Minnesota (with locations in South Dakota and Iowa as well). They were in Montgomery Mall for a little over 4 years.
